Distribution & Inventory Associate, Bronx, NY - Part Time (20+ hours)

Job Description

The Blogger House Curvy Closet has launched an online and virtual marketplace for buying and consigning used clothing. We are rapidly scaling up our distribution center operations to manage these garments, and are hiring an associate to help us in all stages of processing and distribution. +style box is a new box styling service that The Blogger House Curvy Closet will be beta testing this winter. The Distribution & Inventory Associate will be integral in the development and management of this new initiative.  

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Receive goods, and reconcile against all pertinent supplier information

• Inspect apparel and accept it into inventory based on The Blogger House Curvy Closet’s high standards regarding condition, brand, and sizing. Perform quality control at all key steps.

• Itemize, photograph, hang, pick, and pack apparel and related items. 

• Work alongside the Blogger House Curvy Close team to create, box and market the new +style box.

• Determine ways to continually improve all processes and the customer experience, particularly as our operations grow in scale. i.e., not only operate within Standard Operating Procedures, but also improve them.

• Prepare and apply shipping and mailing labels to items that are being shipped out of the company.

• Handle customer service related needs for The Blogger House Curvy Closet including but not limited to customer inquiries, troubleshooting and general questions, maintaining The Blogger House Curvy Closet group & The Blogger House Curvy Closet social media pages and consignor emails.

• Work alongside the The Blogger House Curvy Closet team to create opportunities for social media engagement including collecting information needed from consignors for marketing materials.

• Must have high attention to detail, punctuality, reliability, and a strong motivation to grow our company.

• Technology: dexterity in using handheld electronic devices (e.g., scanners, cameras, and smartphones), desktop computers, and computer for data entry.

• Ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs, push/pull wheeled clothing racks weighing up to 150 lbs, flexibly shift between multiple workstations, and actively use a smartphone for continuous periods up to 3 hours. I.e., this role requires moderate physical effort such as the ability to stand or walk for long periods of time, bend down, and reach overhead. Position experiences exposure to allergens such as pet dander and hair, perfumes, and colognes.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge (and judgment) about the condition, style, and pricing of great clothes.

• Extensive familiarity with iPhones and/or Touch technologies.

• Experience in retail, warehousing, or similar fast-paced environments requiring teamwork.

Other Details

• This is a month by month contractual position.

• Qualified candidates will be brought on as temporary employees. The temporary assignment will be for a period of up to 60 days.

• Your work schedule will include second and third shift hours plus Saturday and Sundays when needed.
